Family Concert //

Our Summer Festival Family Concert, Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns, Festival pianists Jeewon Park and Anton Nel perform with Jack Prelutsky, America’s first Children’s Poet Laureate, reading his own humorous verses inspired by Saint- Saëns' musical portrayals of kangaroos, elephants, and much more! This is a playful way to introduce children ages 5-10 to classical music. FREE PRE-CONCERT ACTIVITY! Musical instrument “petting zoo” in the lobby at 10:00 am, courtesy of Music Center of the Northwest.

"Welcome to our carnival, Where birds and beasts and such Behave a lot like people do, At times a bit too much. You'll meet the regal lion And the captivating swan, The irritating donkeys That prattle on and on. You'll meet a tortoise, and some fish With undulating fins. Welcome to our carnival— The music now begins." -Jack Prelutsky
