Support Seattle Chamber Music Society through your IRA!

Donate before 12/31/2023 to save on 2023 taxes and see your generosity in action!

Why Consider the IRA Charitable Rollover?

  • You avoid income tax because IRA charitable rollover distributions are excluded from income.

  • If you have not already taken your required minimum distribution, a rollover gift can count toward satisfying this requirement.

  • It makes it easier to use IRA assets to make charitable gifts during your lifetime.

  • Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.

How and when to give?

  • Contact your IRA plan administrator and ask them to directly transfer a certain sum to Seattle Chamber Music Society. (Tax ID number: 91-1169836.)

  • We must receive your gift by December 31, 2023 for your donation to qualify this year.

  • Please notify us of your gift by sending an email to [email protected]. Many popular retirement plan administrators assume no obligation to notify a charity of your designation.

Are there additional ways to give with my IRA?

  • No matter your age, you can designate the Seattle Chamber Music Society as the beneficiary of a percentage of your IRA and it will pass to us tax-free after your lifetime. It’s simple, just requiring that you contact your IRA administrator for a change-of-beneficiary form or download a form from your provider’s website.

  • By making a bequest to Seattle Chamber Music Society automatically makes you a SCMS Legacy Club member. Tomorrow’s chamber music performances will be your legacy to the world. Legacy Club members enjoy an annual social event with our Artistic Director and recognition in our publications.
