The winner of the younger age division (ages 6-15) is violinist Tokuji Miyasaka, who also enjoys traveling, learning languages, and mathematics. The winner of the older age division (16-20) is pianist August Baik, who loves basketball (he supports the Warriors), jazz, salmon roe sushi, and is also a budding young composer.
Come hear the winners of the Young Artist Awards at the Center for Chamber Music on June 10 at 8:00pm. This concert is free and open to the public, but space is limited. Registration is required and limited to 4 tickets per order to attend.
Each year, in partnership with King FM, the Young Artist Awards gives young musicians the opportunity to showcase their talents through live broadcast performances and to compete for a cash prize provided by BECU.
