Clarinet
Sean Osborn has traveled the world as soloist, chamber musician, and during his eleven years with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He has also appeared as guest principal clarinet with the New York Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and others. Sean's festival performances include Marlboro, Aspen, Zagreb Bienalle, Pacific Rims, and Colorado. A frequent chamber musician, Mr. Osborn founded chamber groups Quake and Kokopelli, and has collaborated with James Levine, Donald Weilerstein, Richard Stoltzman, Milan Turkovic, and members of the Tokyo, Colorado, Avalon, Calder, Rimsky-Korsakov, and St. Lawrence String Quartets, among others. A composer and new-music specialist, Mr. Osborn has premiered works by nearly a hundred composers, including Philip Glass, John Adams, John Corigliano, Chen Yi, and Jennifer Higdon; his own award-winning compositions have been played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and members of the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, Marlboro Music Festival, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Mr. Osborn studied at the Eastman School of Music, and graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy and The Curtis Institute of Music.
