Trio Veritas wins Silver at Fischoff

Trio Veritas earns the Silver Medal and the Junior String Horszowski Trio Prize at Fischoff

Seattle Chamber Music Society is thrilled to celebrate a major achievement by Trio Veritas — violinist Hana Gottesman, cellist Jesse Krentz, and pianist David Gatien — who earned the Silver Medal and the Junior String Horszowski Trio Prize in the Junior String Division at the 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

Founded in 1973, the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition is widely recognized as the nation’s longest-running and most respected chamber music competition, drawing outstanding young ensembles from across the United States and around the world.

Trio Veritas are students in Seattle Chamber Music Society’s Academy for Chamber Music, SCMS’s advanced training program for exceptional young musicians. Through intensive coaching, performance opportunities, and masterclasses led by professional musicians and teachers, the Academy helps prepare students for the highest levels of collaborative music-making. This recognition reflects not only the extraordinary talent and dedication of Hana, Jesse, and David, but also the intimate musical exploration and collaboration at the heart of chamber music itself. Marta Lambert, SCMS Director of Education and Community Engagement, shares: “We are so proud of Trio Veritas for this outstanding achievement and their commitment to this incredible art form. The trio’s performance in the final round of Fischoff exemplified sensitive and fiery music-making with the poise of musicians well beyond their years. We look forward to watching Trio Veritas continue to grow as artists and to seeing the example they will set for the next generation of Academy musicians.”

SCMS audiences will have the opportunity to hear Trio Veritas perform live at the Academy Showcase on May 31, featuring musicians from SCMS’s Academy for Chamber Music. The showcase celebrates the conclusion of the Academy’s spring semester and highlights the remarkable musicianship and growth of its student ensembles.

Fall 2026 applications to the SCMS Academy for Chamber Music open June 1. Young musicians interested in pursuing high-level chamber music training are encouraged to learn more about the program at the button below.
