Music Under the Stars

Music Under the Stars

Every Summer Festival concert is broadcast into Seattle Parks where audiences enjoy chamber music in a casual, comfortable environment. The Music Under the Stars series is the perfect event to pack a picnic and bring your friends to the park and listen to these audio-only broadcasts.

Before the broadcast and during intermission, talented local student musicians perform live.

Last year over 2,600 people enjoyed our broadcasts. We hosted weekly events at Delridge Playfield in West Seattle, Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill, Freeway Park in downtown Seattle, and Columbia Park in Columbia City.

This year we are expanding from four to five parks! We will continue to offer Music Under the Stars at Columbia Park (Columbia City), Freeway Park (Downtown), and Volunteer Park (Capitol Hill), and we are moving to a new West Seattle location, the Seattle Chinese Garden in the Delridge Neighborhood, and we are adding a fifth park, Yesler Terrace Park in the First Hill Neighborhood!

Each Music Under the Stars event begins with a live student performance at 7:30pm, with the live audio broadcast from Benaroya Hall beginning at 8:00pm. During intermission the students will play again.

The 2019 Summer Festival schedule:

  • Seattle Chinese Garden (West Seattle)
  • Yesler Terrace Park (First Hill)

  • Volunteer Park (Capitol Hill)

  • Columbia Park (Columbia City)
  • Freeway Park (Downtown)
