Michael Werner Percussion
Present
Michael Werner is Principal Percussion of the Seattle Symphony. He began his career as Principal Percussion with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, followed by 13 years with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. He has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Chamber Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble, and the Santa Barbara International Percussion Festival. Werner is currently a faculty member at both The Mannes School of Music in New York City and the Music Academy of the West summer festival in Santa Barbara. Werner studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, Cleveland State University, Music Academy of the West, Duquesne University School of Music and the Aspen Music School. He is also a featured artist and clinician for Pearl Percussion and Zildjian.
