Prior to joining the Seattle Symphony, Ben Hausmann served as principal oboe of L’Orchestre Symphonique de Québec, the Florida Philharmonic and the Savannah Symphony. He has been a frequent guest of the Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony and Baltimore Symphony. Hausmann’s summer festivals include the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Aspen Music Festival. He studied at The Juilliard School, where he received his MM degree. He was adjunct professor at Armstrong Atlantic State University and Georgia Southern University. An avid composer, Hausmann’s work aims to uniquely amalgamate disparate favorite styles throughout history.
