Carson is currently the Instructor of Low Brass at Willamette University and Principal Trombone for Orchestra Next.  He has in the past held membership in the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.  Carson continues to regularly make guest appearances with orchestras internationally including the Cincinnati Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic, and the Santa Fe Opera.  As a chamber musician Carson appears regularly with Ensemble Music New Mexico and the Figueroa Project, and was a member of the New Orleans Uptown Brass Quintet from 2006-2010.  Carson studied at Oberlin College/Conservatory, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Music in Performance.  He received his Masters degree in performance from Rice University.
