Seth Krimsky //
Bassoon

Seth Krimsky joined the Seattle Symphony in 1986, and was appointed to the position of principal bassoon in 1990. An active chamber music performer, Mr. Krimsky shares a long association with the Seattle Chamber Players. His third commission for this ensemble, "Chaplin Street," was performed in January 2008. He has also appeared as principal bassoon with the Mostly Mozart Orchestra of Lincoln Center, and the Waterloo Festival Orchestra. As a soloist, Mr. Krimsky has performed in Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Capetown, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Tallahassee, Kalispell and San Diego. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California. He continued post graduate studies at USC, with a special emphasis in baroque performance. While in Los Angeles, Mr. Krimsky was an active freelance musician, performing with such ensembles as the Santa Monica Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, Pasadena Symphony, Pasadena Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He also participates in summer festivals including the Ojai, Bakersfield Music, and Tanglewood festivals.
