String Quintet in E-flat Major, K. 614
One of Mozart’s final compositions, the quintet has buoyant melodies that conjure rustic scenes of hunts and jovial dances.
Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano in A minor, Op. 114
Although written for a virtuoso clarinetist, Brahms balances all of the voices throughout the work to create the perfect harmony between all three instruments.
Trio for Violin, Cello and Piano in F minor, Op. 65
Dvořák was encouraged to write more like Brahms if he wanted his new works to find success in Vienna, and while the structure of the trio is reminiscent, the melody and mood of the piece is undeniably Dvořák’s own voice.
