Craig Sheppard Piano

Present

In an international career that has spanned nearly fifty years, Philadelphia native Craig Sheppard lived in London for twenty years before joining the faculty of the School of Music of the University of Washington in 1993, where he is now Professor of Piano. He also performed on multiple occasions with all the British orchestras, many within Europe and the United States, and with many of the leading conductors of the day. He has given concerts and masterclasses throughout the world, including all the major countries in Asia, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Israel and Chile. His recent recording project of the 24 Preludes and Fugues of Shostakovich has taken him to Beijing, Shanghai, New York, London, Jerusalem and Oslo, in addition to many universities within the United States. A graduate of The Curtis Institute and The Juilliard School, he won the Silver Medal in the 1972 Leeds International Pianoforte Competition.
