Yegor Dyachkov //

Since being named Artist of the Year by the Canadian Broadcast Corporation in 2000, cellist Yegor Dyachkov has gone on to perform throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia, Canada and the United States, making his New York debut at Lincoln Center in October 2000. He has appeared with major orchestras in Antwerp, Geneva, Montréal, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto and Vancouver, and has performed at international festivals in Évian, Kronberg, Lanaudière, Ottawa, and Tanglewood. A champion of new music, Yegor Dyachkov was invited by Yo-Yo Ma to take part in the Silk Road Project, and premiered works dedicated to him by Christos Hatzis, Jacques Hétu, Michael Oesterle, André Prévost and Ana Sokolovic. He has recorded extensively on several labels, including Chandos, Analekta and Atma. Deeply committed to chamber music, Yegor Dyachkov has partnered with the Arditti, Borromeo and St. Lawrence Quartets, pianists Anton Kuerti, Marc-André Hamelin and Jean Saulnier, violinists James Clark, Jonathan Crow, Scott St. John, Axel Strauss and Antje Weithaas, cellist Steven Isserlis, and clarinetists James Campbell and Todd Palmer. Mr. Dyachkov is a founding member of the Magellan Ensemble and of the Montréal Piano Trio. He teaches at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University and is professor of cello and chamber music at l'Université de Montréal.
