Takumi Taguchi, 15, began violin studies at age 2 with the Suzuki Method.  Currently he studies with Simon James and Hiro David, and previously studied with Mihoko Hirata.  Takumi has won several competitions including the 2013 Suzuki World Convention Concerto Competition, the 2013 David Tonkonogui Memorial Award, the 2015 Seattle Young Artists Music Festival, the 2015 Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, the 2016 Seattle Symphony Young Artist Awards, and the 2016 KING FM Young Artist Awards.  Additionally, he was a semifinalist in the 2016 Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition in London, UK.  He attended the 2015 Starling-DeLay Violin Symposium at The Juilliard School.
