SCMS strives to bring additional chamber music-related events to our local communities. These events augment our ongoing programs and give people an opportunity to experience chamber music outside the concert hall. Below are some of our recent events:
Classroom visit with Great Composers' Listening Program
This March, one of our Chamber Music in the Classroom teaching artists joined Jeanne Bluechel at Wing Luke Elementary. Jeanne's lesson was accompanied by works for solo cello, including selections from the Bach Cello Suites.Concert in the Backyard series
These Sunday morning concerts, held at KidsQuest Children's Museum in Bellevue, entertained children and their families. "Miss Marta" from 98.1 Classical KING-FM and various guest ensembles took musical trips to Europe, explored the sounds of percussion, flutes, strings and more.Camden Shaw Recital
Cellist Camden Shaw, a 16-year-old sophomore at Bellevue's Newport High School, performed works by Bach, Bloch, and Kodaly with pianist Regina Yeh at Rose Hill Junior High School in Redmond in April 2006.Zoka performances
