You can help us to support the creation and evolution of new chamber music by joining our Commissioning Club

As a Commissioning Club member, you make a multi-year financial commitment and receive regular updates on the progress of each composition. You are invited to attend a rehearsal with the composer and musicians prior to its premiere performance.

The 2008 World Premiere was Jeffrey Cotton's "Six Departures": Trio for Flute, Viola & Harp, which was performed on Monday, July 21 at Lakeside School, by Lorna McGhee, David Harding and Heidi Krutzen.

The Club's first commissioned piece was Ronn Yedidia's Trio for Clarinet, Cello & Piano, which received its world premiere at Lakeside School on Friday, July 20, 2007. It was played by Alexander Fiterstein, Amit Peled and Alon Goldstein, with the composer in attendance.

R.M. Campbell wrote in the Seattle PI:
Just as the Trio's scoring is unique, so is its style: "a romantic composition in the vein of 19th- and early-20th-century masters," Yedidia wrote in the program. It is a brave thing to do, even in these pluralistic days, particularly music that is so retrograde in content and matter. The most important thing ... is the question: Does the piece work without sounding like a cliche or a pastiche of old mannerisms? It does.
Yedidia is comfortable in this idiom and writes well in it, without apology or fuss. He has melodic ideas, which he expresses with finesse, and enough edge to give contrast to those smooth-limbed pleasantries.
