made his solo debut seven years ago at age 11 with the Seattle Symphony. In the last two seasons he has performed with the Philharmonia Northwest, Seattle Symphony, Northwest Sinfonietta, and the Bellevue Philharmonic, among others. Upcoming engagements include performances with the Tifereth Israel Orchestra of San Diego, the Moscow State Radio Orchestra, the National Philharmonic of Poland, and as the "Featured Young Artist" at the 2009 Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival. He has performed on the NPR radio program "From the Top" broadcast live from The Herbst Theater in San Francisco. Julian has premiered several chamber works including "In Memoriam" for Cello and String Orchestra, composed by his father Gerard Schwarz, for the Music of Remembrance series, which was included in his first CD on the Naxos label. Winner of the Seattle Young Artist Concerto Competition and the Northwest Sinfonietta Concerto Competition, Julian Schwarz was named the first Assistant Conductor of the Lake Union Civic Orchestra in 2007. He currently studies with Toby Saks.
