Natalie Zhu is the recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant, Musical Fund Society Career Advancement Award, the Andrew Wolf Memorial Chamber Music Award and Astral Artists Award. Ms. Zhu has performed throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. Ms. Zhu has toured with violinist Hilary Hahn since 1997. Highlights of the current season include her return to the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Brooklyn Library Chamber Music series, Maestro Foundation Concert Series, Curtis-On-Tour project, and solo piano recital tours in China. As an active chamber musician, she has been featured in festivals such as Marlboro, Tanglewood, Skaneateles, Chicago Chamber Musicians, and the Bay Chamber Music Festivals. Since 2009, Ms. Zhu has been the artistic director of the Kingston Chamber Music Festival (RI), and has recently formed the Clarosa Piano Quartet with her husband, violist Che-Hung Chen, and violinist Juliette Kang and cellist Thomas Kraines. Natalie Zhu began her piano studies at the age of six in her native China and made her first public appearance at age nine in Beijing. At eleven she immigrated to Los Angeles; by fifteen she was enrolled at The Curtis Institute of Music. She received a Master of Music degree from the Yale School of Music.
